Shen Yun 2020 Tour: Reviving Traditional Arts for a Glorious New Era
“Shen Yun gives us the full range of emotions and ideas, vivid and able to touch the hearts of everyone here. Shen Yun’s music has shown its power, crossing every barrier of time and space, even of ethnicity and nationality, and going straight to the heart.”
That was the firm yet deeply moving statement about Shen Yun Performing Arts from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Musician Do Hong Quan – Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations and President of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association at a warm evening gathering on December 17 at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel, where a tea party introducing the Shen Yun 2020 World Tour took place.
The tea party, organized by Viet My Traditional Culture Company, also welcomed central government leaders and many leaders of Hanoi, as well as numerous managers, generals and renowned artists of the Vietnamese art scene
“Tonight has been a wonderful night for me, and I want everyone to experience this wonder. So when Shen Yun comes to Vietnam, and especially to Da Nang, I will certainly be one of its most enthusiastic audience members, and I will help promote it and bring people to Shen Yun.”
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, former Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee and now President of the Da Nang Association for the Protection of Disabled Children and Orphans, shared.
“Captivated”, “overwhelmed”, “full of admiration” – these were the feelings shared by many veteran Vietnamese artists after spending time learning about one of the world’s finest performing arts companies – Shen Yun Performing Arts.
In a musical and cultural setting that touched the emotions of many listeners, conductors and musicians came together to discuss the “Shen Yun” phenomenon and what has made the Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra a worldwide success. Vietnam’s first female symphony conductor – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meritorious Artist Minh Cam – said that in 45 years of work and observation she had never seen a symphony orchestra so young achieve such success as Shen Yun. This filled her with admiration and curiosity about what had helped Shen Yun achieve such a feat.
As a special guest of the event, Meritorious Artist Vu Huy, a fine artist who has worked in the film industry for decades and who was fortunate to have seen Shen Yun Performing Arts once and the Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra another time, recalled his feelings: “The development of today’s society makes people indifferent and forget the feelings between one another. Shen Yun is like a symbol of genuine art, the standard and measure of genuine art, helping people preserve core cultural values, as if you could touch them.”
We see helping to revive the 5,000-year cultural values of humanity as our main mission.
