The name “Shen Yun” has a very special meaning. In Chinese, “Shen” means divine being, and “Yun” means the bearing or inner meaning of a divine being. Together, Shen Yun means the beauty of divine beings dancing! Shen Yun's performances embody the essence of traditional culture, revealing ancient wisdom of extraordinary depth and breadth and bringing back the splendor of 5,000 years of civilization.
Through spectacular dance and music, Shen Yun's artists take audiences back to ancient times, when gods and humans coexisted in the “Divine Land” and the civilization left by the divine was passed down from generation to generation. The wisdom of the ancients, rooted in Buddhist and Taoist spirit and thought, permeated every field of culture, from traditional medicine to theater, dance, architecture and martial arts.
