With the permission of the Shen Yun office, on the afternoon of January 27, Viet My Traditional Culture JSC held a tea party introducing Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Sofitel Legend Metropole hotel. As a bridge helping to revive traditional cultural values, the event introduced guests to Shen Yun’s mission of reviving traditional culture, its journey and achievements over 12 years, and the genuine experiences of audiences who have seen Shen Yun.

This is the 12th consecutive year that Shen Yun Performing Arts has returned to tour major theaters in nearly 150 cities across Europe, the Americas, Australia and Asia. Founded by Chinese artists and based in New York, USA, with the mission of reviving 5,000 years of Chinese civilization through the borderless language of music and dance, Shen Yun Performing Arts has helped millions of people around the world experience and discover ancient Eastern culture, its moral values and the rich uniqueness of one of humanity’s oldest civilizations.

Speaking about classical music, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Quynh of the United Nations Population Fund in Vietnam said: “Today there are many kinds of music that are not really healthy and can even lead listeners into depression, so traditional music of the highest level that inspires goodness like this will have a great impact on everyone’s spirit and life”. As a special guest of the event, Meritorious Artist Vu Huy, a fine artist who has worked in the film industry for decades and who was fortunate to have seen Shen Yun Performing Arts once and the Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra another time, recalled his feelings: “The development of today’s society makes people indifferent and forget the feelings between one another. Shen Yun is like a symbol of genuine art, the standard and measure of genuine art, helping people preserve core cultural values, as if you could touch them.” He was very impressed by Shen Yun’s colors – the splendor of the costumes across the dynasties and the brightness of the stage backdrops based on natural colors – as if they had distilled the very essence of traditional Chinese culture.

At the end of the program, many guests left full of emotion, having glimpsed the cultural values Shen Yun brings and understood more about Shen Yun’s mission of restoring 5,000 years of human civilization. Many guests also expressed their wish to see Shen Yun in person, and Mr. Ha Van Tang, former Director of the Department of Grassroots Culture, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, could not help but exclaim “Wonderful!” after watching the introduction of the program.
