“True marvelous!” exclaimed Ms. Leyna Nguyen, a Vietnamese American TV anchor with 2 Emmy Awards after watching Shen Yun with her daughter.
Ms Nguyen shared her thoughts:
“Like a real feast for your eyes. I guess I knew what to expect but until you sit there, you hear the music and you see the colors—it’s really incredible… It’s more than just entertainment, there is a message behind it. I know my daughter loves [it]. When the curtains first opened, I looked at her face and she was amazed by what she saw. It’s really nice to be able to come here, sit back, relax, and just kind of get lost in the music, and get lost in what I’m seeing on stage.”
Nguyen was not of a few viewers with such assertion after watching Shen Yun. Mr Reeves, a gemologist, said:
“I have traveled this earth, probably to every corner. I’ve never seen anything like this. It’s unbelievable.”
Sherry Martin, a retired teacher asserted: “If you try to describe it, they’re going to go “What?” You have to see it with your eyes.”
So what has struck the audiences that much after seeing Shen Yun? As Broadway World has said, this art program is ‘a must-see”.
Shen Yun Performing Arts is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company. Shen Yun was established in New York in 2006 by elite Chinese artists. They came together with a shared vision and passion—to revive the lost world of traditional Chinese culture and share it with everyone.
Through the universal language of music and dance, Shen Yun weaves a wondrous tapestry of heavenly realms, ancient legends, and modern heroic tales, taking its viewers on a journey through 5,000 years of Chinese culture. Its stunning beauty and tremendous energy leave audiences uplifted and inspired. These dances might whisk viewers away to the plains of Tibet, the shores of a Dai village, or the sprawling plains of Mongolia.
Shen Yun give dramatic portrayal to the cherished stories of past and present. Their figures embody the most exalted virtues of Chinese civilization, and convey a message or moral that is still relevant in our day. Many have inspired people for generations, such as the tales of heroine Mulan and general Yue Fei, etc.
What makes the audience most excited perhaps is the cutting-edge technology 3D animated backdrop, which brings viewers to the forgotten and wonderful ancient land of Gods. As lawyer Mike Scheller exclaimed: “I’m really shocked. I do not have enough words to praise it”.
